COMPETITION IN HEALTHCARE SECTOR

Abstract

The competition difficulties addressed in this research in the subsector of stationary health care elicit the observation that competition kinds and instruments used are a derivative of the organisation of a particular healthcare system as well as the peculiarity of health care per se. The author discusses the challenges of gaining a competitive edge in the stationary health care sub-sector. As a result, the primary goal of this research is to identify the various forms and instruments of competition in relation to stationary healthcare institutions. The paper's observations can be beneficial to both the Polish and Ukrainian healthcare sectors.
