Cloud-based system with smart contracts and consensus algorithms

Abstract

A peer-to-peer distributed ledger system called the blockchain operates under the "write-once, read-only" tenet. Informational items are grouped in blocks on a blockchain, and these blocks are connected by utilising the hash values of earlier blocks. In a blockchain system, blocks are only added, thus once data is recorded in a block, it cannot be modified; nobody tampers with the block's content. The information about the patients is centrally stored in a local database or server by the traditional electronic medical records (EMRs)-based system, which is primarily focused on the healthcare practitioners. Therefore, in the conventional EMR system, security and exchange of patient information are challenging jobs.
