Children and the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic

Mahesh Tunguturi

Abstract

This project seeks to estimate the burden of disease and mortality among children and adolescents in the Caribbean and evaluate COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) monitoring methods, health resources, vaccine coverage, and income stratification. The study, which included surveys and secondary data sources, was a descriptive cross-sectional study that covered 15 Caribbean nations and territories. Measures for isolation and quarantine were effective, and comparable surveillance techniques were used. In the area, there were many paediatric experts, but few of them possessed dedicated paediatric hospitals or high-dependency units.
