Health record system for predictive health assessment

Abstract

Despite the emergence of ailments like frailty and dementia, many older persons in the US want to live independently for as long as they are able. The last ten years have seen the emergence of sensor networks, telemedicine, and internet-based electronic health records (EHR) as potential solutions to the problem of monitoring the health of older adults. There are several commercially available EHR, telehealth monitoring, and sensor network options, but as far as we are aware, there isn't an integrated system. Integrated eldercare EHR system (IEEHR) that combines health data with sensor and telehealth (vital signs) readings is described in this study.
