Workplace health promotion using personal health systems

Rajeev Gupta

Abstract

It is believed that cutting-edge technology, like wearable sensors, electronic health diaries, and tailored online services, have the ability to enhance population health in an economical way. Since the workplace frequently offers a great environment and infrastructure to enable health-related activities, the application of personal health systems in workplace health promotion is of special interest. Working individuals are also often better equipped to benefit from information technology than the elderly or those who are already disabled by sickness. Numerous functional and technological prerequisites for the use of ICT in health promotion have been identified by current research, but very little is known about other aspects that influence the development and use of such systems.
