A comparison of different R2R D/A converters

Abstract


This article investigates R2R D/A converters utilizing various topologies such as CMOS, Transmission Gates (TG), and OP-AMP. For the purpose of simplicity, a four-bit input is used. The R2R D/A converter is made up of simply two resistor values, R and 2R. By repeating the configuration of a precision resistor network in a ladder. The R2R D/A converter was simulated using TANNER-EDA T-SPICE, and the circuit was verified using S-EDIT on the TANNER-EDA software package. To show the outcomes, simulation results are given. The simulation results are quite consistent with the theoretical estimation.
