Smartphone Camera Scene Detection: A Mobile AI 2021 Challenge

Ashok Kumar Reddy Nadikattu

Abstract

One of the most common smartphone computer vision issues is camera scene detection. While several tailored solutions were created by phone suppliers for this task, none of the intended models were made publicly accessible until recently. To solve this issue, we launch the first Mobile AI challenge, whose goal is to create quantized deep learning-based camera image classification systems that can function in real time on mobile devices and IoT platforms. For this, a sizable CamSDD dataset with more than 11K photos from the 30 most significant scene types was given to the participants. On the well-known Apple Bionic A11 platform, which powers many iOS devices, the runtime of all models was assessed.
