AI-Driven Healthcare Chatbots: Enhancing Patient Engagement and Reducing Healthcare Costs

Venkata Sai Teja Yarlagadda

Abstract

The use of AI-powered chatbots in healthcare is gaining traction for improving patient engagement, providing timely medical advice, and reducing healthcare costs. This paper explores the design and implementation of AI-driven chatbots in healthcare settings, focusing on their ability to assist patients with symptom checking, appointment scheduling, and medication reminders. By utilizing natural language processing (NLP) and machine learning algorithms, chatbots can offer personalized responses, triage patients effectively, and reduce the burden on healthcare professionals. The paper also discusses challenges such as ensuring data privacy, chatbot accuracy, and overcoming patient trust barriers.
