A technological stack to speed digital health research discovery

Arijeet Singh

Abstract

The design philosophy and architecture of the Health Guardian, a platform built by the IBM Digital Health team to speed the discovery of novel digital biomarkers and the development of digital health products, are highlighted in this article. The Health Guardian enables the quick translation of artificial intelligence (AI) research into cloud-based microservices that can be evaluated with clinical cohort data to better understand illness and enable early prevention. To collect health-related data into a secure database, the platform may be linked to mobile applications, wearables, or Internet of things (IoT) devices.
